• Shiplake 10k Multi Terrain Run – Sunday 8th May 2011

We are very pleased to announce that the Shiplake Scramble will take place on Sunday 8th May 2011.

For photographs of the 2010 event held on Sunday 9th May, please follow the link on the 'Photos' page which can be found under 'The Race'.

The 10k course is multi terrain taking in tarmac lanes, farm tracks, farmland as well as the Thames towpath.

  • The Course

This is a fantastic run starting at Shiplake College, an independent school on the banks of the River Thames. Traversing through farmland and along dirt tracks towrads Sonning and then returning, in part, along the picturesque River Thames towpath.

The course composition guarantees to make the race a great challenge for all and a tough race for those at the front.

As the course is classified as multi-terrain, the distance cannot be certified, it has however been measured accurately to be 10km.

  • Refreshments & Entertainment

The start and finish are on sports fields within the grounds of Shiplake College where there will be refreshments, entertainment for spectators, childrens 1k races and trade stands.
  • Who We Are Supporting

A % of the event profits will be donated to Help for Heroes and Shiplake Church of England Primary School PTFA.

We also encourage you to collect sponsorship money for these two charities - click the logos to find out how.
